Getting started
What Commercefox does and what to prepare for the first review.
What does Commercefox handle?
Support can be scoped across supplier discovery, product development and sampling, production coordination, quality checks, facility-document review, packing review, and freight-forwarder handoff. The exact responsibilities are defined in the proposal for each program.
Is Commercefox the manufacturer?
No. Commercefox is a U.S.-based sourcing and production-management agency coordinating independent manufacturing facilities in Bangladesh. Factory selection is based on the needs of the product and project.
What products do you source?
Current sourcing focus—subject to factory fit and project feasibility—includes cotton knits, denim, and sweaters. Other apparel briefs are evaluated case by case rather than promised as a generic catalog.
What kinds of projects are the best fit?
Commercefox is designed for brands and production teams planning commercial apparel programs with a defined category, realistic quantity, and a willingness to document decisions. A complete tech pack is helpful but not mandatory if development support is part of the agreed scope.
Where does Commercefox coordinate work?
The operating model combines U.S.-based client coordination with factory-facing production coordination in Bangladesh. Fit for a particular destination market and its requirements is assessed during the initial review.
What should I send for an initial review?
Send the tech pack or best available product reference, size range, material direction, colorways, estimated quantity by style and color, target market, destination, and desired delivery window. If information is missing, identify what is still in development.
Development & production
How briefs become samples, approvals, and a production critical path.
Do I need a complete tech pack?
A complete tech pack creates the clearest basis for feasibility, costing, sampling, and quality control. If yours is incomplete, Commercefox can discuss what development support is needed before a reliable production quote or sample can be expected.
How does sampling work?
The required sample stages and revision rounds are agreed during scoping. The process tracks technical questions, materials, fit and appearance feedback, and written approvals. Bulk production should begin only after the required reference and specifications are approved.
What is your minimum order quantity?
MOQ depends on the product, construction, materials, color count, and suitable factory. Share estimated units for each style and colorway so feasibility can be assessed against an actual production route.
How long does development and production take?
Timing depends on product complexity, material availability, sample revisions, testing, factory capacity, quantity, approval speed, and shipping method. A project critical path is prepared after feasibility and the production route are clear.
Can Commercefox work with my existing factory?
Potentially. Production-management or quality support may be scoped around an existing facility if responsibilities, access, documentation, and the cooperation required for the work are agreed by all parties.
Quality & compliance
How checkpoints, findings, and facility documents are handled.
How do you manage garment quality?
The project quality plan defines the approved specification and reference, the production checkpoints, who performs each check, the inspection scope and method, the reporting format, and the response to non-conformance. Agreed third-party inspectors may be engaged where appropriate.
Do you use AQL?
Where a statistical final-inspection method is appropriate, the sampling approach and acceptance criteria must be agreed in the project quality plan. Commercefox does not apply one unexplained inspection standard to every product or production stage.
What happens when an inspection finds a problem?
The reported finding is documented against the approved reference, the affected scope is assessed, containment and corrective options are discussed, responsibility and timing are assigned, and available verification evidence is documented before an authorized release decision.
Can a project be matched to a facility with specific certifications?
Potentially, subject to availability and project fit. Commercefox can collect and review available facility documents and flag dates or obvious gaps. Certifications belong to the facility, and the client should determine whether the evidence satisfies its policy and legal requirements.
Can you coordinate product testing?
Order-specific testing coordination can be included when requirements, responsible parties, laboratory, sample timing, costs, and decision criteria are defined in the project scope.
Commercial terms & logistics
How service scope, pricing, freight handoff, and confidentiality are handled.
How is Commercefox pricing determined?
Service pricing is scoped around the product category, development complexity, quantity, production stage, inspection needs, documentation, travel or third-party requirements, and delivery responsibilities. If there is a fit, Commercefox proposes a tailored scope after the initial review.
How are contracts, factory payments, and Commercefox fees structured?
The project proposal identifies the contracting parties, factory payment route, Commercefox service fee or other commercial structure, third-party charges, shipping terms, and approval responsibilities. These details should not be assumed to be identical for every program.
Do you arrange shipping?
Commercefox can coordinate packing information, commercial documents, and the handoff to an agreed freight forwarder. Shipping terms, insurance, importer-of-record status, freight charges, and each party’s responsibility are defined in the proposal.
Can you guarantee price, quality, or delivery timing?
Manufacturing contains variables that no responsible agency should describe as risk-free. Commercefox uses supplier matching, approvals, milestone follow-up, inspection, documentation, and escalation to improve visibility and reduce avoidable coordination risk.
How should I share confidential designs?
Use the initial contact to describe the category and project at a high level. Do not upload or email sensitive proprietary designs until the parties have agreed the appropriate confidentiality terms and a secure method of exchange.
Useful production language
A short apparel sourcing glossary.
The same term can be used loosely by different suppliers. Define important standards and commercial terms in the project documents rather than relying on shorthand.
- Tech pack
- The specification package communicating construction, measurements, materials, trims, artwork, labels, and other product requirements.
- MOQ
- Minimum order quantity. It may apply by style, color, material, or production run depending on the factory and supply chain.
- Pre-production sample
- A sample representing the final approved product direction before bulk production is authorized.
- AQL
- Acceptance Quality Limit, used with a defined statistical sampling plan for certain lot inspections. The agreed method and criteria matter.
- Incoterm
- A standardized commercial term defining selected delivery, cost, and risk responsibilities between buyer and seller.
- Critical path
- The connected schedule of actions and dependencies that determines the earliest realistic completion date.
